Top Navigation and Maps Apps in Switzerland Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, the top navigation and maps applications in Switzerland showed varied performance trends, as analyzed using Sensor Tower data.

Polarsteps Travel saw a consistent pattern in weekly downloads, starting at 8.9K and slightly dipping to around 6.4K in mid-January. However, it rebounded to approximately 8.7K by the end of March. Weekly active users began at 97.3K, peaked at 116.8K in early March, and then decreased to about 91.7K.

Google Maps maintained a stable download rate, ranging from 4.5K to 5.1K throughout the quarter. The app's active users remained strong, starting at 3.9M and closing the quarter at 4.1M.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching a peak of 4.8K in mid-March. Active users also showed growth, beginning at 80K and climbing to over 101K by the quarter's end.

swisstopo demonstrated a strong upward trend in downloads, notably hitting 5.8K in mid-February. Revenue, although modest, showed consistency, peaking at $8 in late March. Active users fluctuated but ended on a high note at 247.8K.

Google Earth maintained stable downloads throughout the quarter, ranging from 2.7K to 3.3K. Active user numbers began at 59.7K and slightly increased to 61.4K by the end of March.
